We take our duty to process your personal information very seriously.

The use of the Internet pages of this website is possible without any indication of personal data. However, if you want to get in touch via our website, processing of personal data could become necessary. This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you take part in market research with Real World Planning.
What information do we collect about you?
We only collect personal information which you voluntarily consent to provide to us, either directly or through a third party (for example, via one of our clients or one of our carefully selected third party suppliers such as or a market research recruitment company or a market research panel company). All information is obtained in accordance with the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct.
How will we use the information you have provided?
We use the information which you have consented to provide to us for market research purposes so that we can perform our duties to our clients as a brand strategy and market research consultancy. We may contact you before or during the project to confirm your involvement and check on progress if the project takes place over time. Your responses during the market research will be reported anonymously to the client who commissioned the project, combined with those of others who participated. If you have consented to being re-contacted after the project, your data may occasionally be used for this purpose.
We may share your personal data with our clients (only when you have given informed consent) and/or with our trusted third party suppliers with whom we have contracts to analyse and process research data. All third party suppliers of Real World Planning are compliant with the GDPR. Your personal information will never be shared with anyone for marketing purposes, or with members of the public.
Access to your information and withdrawing your consent
Any personal information that Real World Planning obtains has been provided with informed consent. If you have provided your consent, you can always opt out at any time.

How do we ensure your personal information is held securely?
We take our responsibilities very seriously to keep secure the information you provide to us. As such we take every reasonable precaution to ensure your information is protected from loss, theft or misuse. These precautions include appropriate physical security of our offices, controlled access to computer systems and use of secure, encrypted internet connections.
From time to time the personal data we collect from you may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”). Your personal data may also be processed by a service provider which operates outside of the EEA. Different countries have different data protection and security laws and some of these do not offer the same level of protection as you enjoy under UK data protection legislation. However, when we appoint our service providers, we take care to ensure that they have appropriate security measures in place. We will always endeavour to ensure that your personal data is kept confidential and secure.
How long will we retain your data?
If you have been provided with a financial incentive for your time taking part in market research with Real World Planning, we are required under UK law to keep a record of this for 6 years, after which time it will be destroyed. This information is kept in a locked area to which access is controlled. Aside from this, any personal information which we obtain from you will be destroyed one year after the completion of the project.

We keep our privacy policy under regular review and this document may be updated from time to time. This privacy policy was last updated 10th September 2018.
